THE DAILY BACKGROUND has uncovered an attempt allegedly by a Belkin employee to solicit positive reviews from Amazon.com users. Alren Parsa discovered on Amazon owned Mechanical Turk, that a Belkin employee was looking for users to review a product and “give [it] a 100% rating (as high as possible).” It did not matter if the reviewer did not own the product or had never tried it. The employee requested that users should, “Write as if you own the product and are using it.” Even further down it suggested that the user should “Mark any other negative reviews as “not helpful” once you post yours.” Users are paid 65 cents for every positive review they leave. There are dozens of these requests from the employee on the Amazon.com website. You can see the ad for yourself here. |
