IT LOOKS LIKE CHINESE PIRATES are doing something that Microsoft wouldn't, they are starting to sell copies of Windows 7 on a USB stick.

The USB drives are selling with a preloaded version of Windows 7 for only 98 yuan, or about $14, according to the Chinese website 163.  One model of the drive is quite fashionable with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's signature on the outside was being flogged in Shenzhen.

Signature Editions of Windows 7 do exist, and were given to Windows 7 Launch Party hosts, just not on a USB. Pirates have simplified the process of getting a copy of Windows 7 on a USB drive.  Microsoft originally thought about shipping Windows 7 on a USB Flash drive, but decided against it.
