Security is, I would say, our top priority because for all the exciting things you will be able to do with computers.. organizing your lives, staying in touch with people, being creative.. if we don't solve these security problems, then people will hold back. Businesses will be afraid to put their critical information on it because it will be exposed.

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 7, 2010 -
Polk Audio, the Speaker Specialists, today announced two new additions to its popular family of SurroundBar integrated home theater speakers, each designed to complement today’s ultra-thin TV displays.

Featuring exceptionally shallow cabinets and matching wireless subwoofers, the new models make achieving full range surround sound and ultra-realistic gaming easier and more visually discreet than ever.

“Consumers are looking for components that blend in, but want performance that stands out,” says Al Baron, Product Line Manager for Polk Audio. “Our new SurroundBar models are a perfect match for today’s increasingly slim HDTVs, with cabinet depths that are even flatter than a typical plasma display. The new form factor ensures an ideal blend of design aesthetics with any flat-screen TV, whether the SurroundBar is mounted on a wall or on a shelf.”

The first new SurroundBar model to ship will be the SurroundBar 3000 Instant Home Theater ($349), which will be available in March. The SurroundBar 3000 is a powered 2-way system 31” long that pumps 100 watts of direct midrange and treble energy, and 80 watts of clean bass through its included 6.5” wireless subwoofer. Connection and setup couldn’t be easier – an optical digital connection mates the system to the HDTV, providing a single-step hookup and instant audio excitement for music, movies and gaming.

The step-up model SurroundBar model is the new 4-way, 35” long SurroundBar 6000SDA Instant Home Theater ($499), which features Polk’s patented SDA surround processing for a remarkably expansive and palpable surround soundfield – all out of a cabinet that is less than two inches deep. The powerful, wireless 7” wireless subwoofer provides 120 watts of authoritative bass response for lifelike music, movies and gaming in any room. The SurroundBar 6000SDA will ship in June.
