Lenovo ThinkServer line enters global market |

CHINESE PC MAKER LENOVO, plans to enter the server market later this month. The ThinkServer line will initially offer systems for small and medium-sized businesses. Although the ThinkServer line is not designed for large enterprises, it will provide products to the largest part of the server market, currently dominated by HP and Dell. The systems will come in five different single and dual-processor configurations and will be available in both tower and rack designs. The TS100 Tower and RS110 Rack servers will ship with either Intel Core 2 Duo or Xeon 3000 or 3200 processor, while the TD100 Tower, TD100x Tower or RD120 Rack servers will be available with either the Xeon 3000 or 5000 processors. Leovo will also include software that will allow users to configure, update, and monitor the performance of their computers. Lenovo plans to start offering the ThinkServer line on starting September 30. The ThinkServers will start at $749. |
