CHARLIE DEMERJIAN is going to get a good kick out of the CES Press room this year. Lenovo has provided T60 and Z60 series notebooks for the press to file their stories on. Sources close to Lenovo told me this last week that the Z-Series notebooks are not long for this world though. Lenovo is still working furiously on its drivers for Windows Vista to meet the end of January Microsoft launch date. Although a lot of drivers and system tools are missing from the Lenovo website, they are all running Windows Vista Ultimate and seem to have functional drivers for most of the core system components. Features like the Verizon wireless card, and the fingerprint reader are still missing. For poor Charlie’s sake, I hope that his laptop doesn’t break down again this year. |
