STARTING TOMORROW, nVIDIA's Nvision conference begins in San Jose. The conference which is part LAN party, part gaming convention, part tutorial session, and part business conference runs through August 27th. The three day event will has been called a "celebration of visual computing", by Jeff Herbst, vice president of business development for Nvidia. nVIDIA CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, will start the conference Monday at a gamer's hour of 1 PM, rather than the typical conference start time of 8 AM. He will speak about visual computing from a business (nVIDIA's) perspective, and not a product level. In addtion to all the business, and fun going on at Nvision, the Guinness World Records team will be on hand. They will measure whether the 36-hour-long LAN party is indeed the world's largest LAN event. For the new world record, over 100 people must be standing, or at least awake, by the end of a day and a half of constant gaming.
